Ampop

Music

AmpopI’ve just noticed that Ampop had a new album released last November. And nobody told me! I just love Made For Market, their second album. After listening a few songs from My Delusions, I can tell that the electro part is gone. What’s left? A kind of melancolic slow folk-pop, and it sounds good.

LiveOnStage has reviews of two gigs they did late last year: London, UK; 29/11/2005 and their set at Iceland Airwaves ‘05.

I think they’re a great band and like their new stuff and their old stuff equally. Their new music does seem a bit more … commercially-oriented, though. My Delusions is the first AMPOP album released in the UK, I believe.

Lovely stuff. Thanks for posting it. I’d missed the album release too…but that doesn’t shock me, as for great periods of grins and gaffes I’m dense as mercury.

sorry i didnt know you liked them, next time i’ll tell you:-)
i dont have it myself but it sounds quite good, the singer can finally sing but it’s a shame they’re going so poppy.

ps: on the picture, with the glasses, it’s prince valium :)
whose -btw- first record should be out this summer on resonant, a good english label which has been releasing a whole bunch of icelandic: skum, blindfold (singer of ampop), olivis, stafraenn hakon, borko..
